The 3-Step Ancestral Skincare Routine
The beauty industry profits from our spiritual amnesia, convincing us we need toxic chemicals to fix a “flawed” outer shell. I reject this lie outright. Your skin is the boundary between your emi (inner spirit) and the external world—it is a membrane that absorbs energy as much as it emits it. My routine is a consecrated 3-step ritual. Step one: cleansing with raw African black soap, which is infused with plantain ash and palm oil. This ash is spiritually potent—it represents the residue of fire, the element that purifies and transforms. It strips away not just dirt, but the odu (energetic residue) of stressful encounters and the envious eyes of others that cling to my aura. Step two: toning with a splash of diluted apple cider vinegar and spring water, calling upon Oshun, the Orisha of sweet waters, to restore my pH balance—because imbalance is the root of all spiritual and physical illness.
